Payhip vs Stan Store: free plan or $29 a month

Payhip vs Stan Store: the short answer

Payhip has a free plan and Stan Store does not. Payhip's Free Forever plan is $0 a month plus a 5% transaction fee, while Stan's Creator plan is $29 a month with a 0% transaction fee, as read on 6 October 2026. Stan's prices come from its help center, because stan.store itself shows none.

Price: a free plan against a $29 plan

Payhip shows monthly prices only: Free Forever $0, Plus $29 and Pro $99 a month. Stan's help center lists Creator at $29 a month or $300 a year, and Creator Pro at $99 a month or $948 a year, and says it has no free plan at the moment. Monthly sets against monthly here: Stan's year prices are year prices, and Payhip shows none.

At $29 a month, Payhip Plus takes a 2% transaction fee and Stan Creator takes none. At $99 a month, Payhip Pro has no Payhip transaction fee, and Stan Creator Pro adds discount codes, order bumps and email tools. Is Payhip free explains what the $0 plan includes.

Fees on each sale

Payhip's transaction fee is 5% on Free Forever, 2% on Plus and none on Pro. Stan says it earns 0% from transactions and charges only a flat subscription fee. On both platforms PayPal or Stripe charge their own processing fees on top, so the figures above are each platform's own cut only, and no total per sale is given.

Features by plan: every feature on Payhip, Pro tools on Stan

Payhip says every plan has the same features, so discount codes and its other tools are on Free Forever too. Stan's help center keeps discount codes, order bumps and email tools for Creator Pro. Both take files up to 5GB, and Stan recommends 500MB or less per file for quick downloads.

Trial and canceling on each platform

Stan's site shows "Try Stan for 14 Days Free," and its help center says a seller can sell during the trial once PayPal or Stripe is connected. The help center does not say whether the trial needs a card. After canceling, Stan keeps the account open until the end of the current billing cycle, and after an upgrade to Creator Pro a downgrade to Creator opens only after 30 days.

Payhip has no trial of Plus or Pro; its Free Forever plan is $0 a month with a 5% fee per sale and needs no card. Its pricing FAQ says an account can be canceled whenever you like.

Which one to pick, Payhip or Stan Store

• Stan Store for a seller who wants a 0% transaction fee from the first sale and accepts $29 a month for Creator, or $99 a month for discount codes and email tools on Creator Pro.
• Payhip for a designer who would rather start at $0 a month and pay 5% only when a pattern sells. Payhip fees shows what Plus and Pro change, and Stan Store alternatives covers other options.
